Blast Motion

What is Blast?

Blast is a Motion tracking sensor placed on the knob of the bat that records numerous metrics during a player’s swing. These metrics are uploaded in real time through the app “Blast Baseball”. This allows the player to analyze and visualize each swing. Blast is used throughout the youth, High school, collegiate, and professional levels.

What does it measure?

  2. Attack angle- The Angle of the Bat’s path relative to horizontal. Positive value indicates swinging up and negative indicates swinging down, where “0” is perfectly level.
  3. Early connection- Measures the relationship between body tilt and vertical bat angle at the start of the swing. Good early connection is “90 Degrees”
  4. Connection at impact- Measures the relationship between body tilt and vertical bat tilt upon impact. A good Connection at Impact is 90 Degrees
  5. Bat speed- The speed of the sweet spot of the bat upon contact. MLB Average Bat speed is 71.6MPH
  6. Rotational acceleration- How quickly the bat reaches the swing plane.
  7. Peak hand speed- The maximum speed of the handle on the bat

Value of blast?

Blast Motion records the “Why” of your swing. It explains why the ball is coming off the bat a certain way. These metrics can help pinpoint holes in a player's swing.
